Walking Grades Explained

Easy:
Prepared walking paths
(This category has a very limited choice)
Moderate:
Forestry tracks, uneven ground, some hill walking
(This category has several routes)
Difficult:
Rough, uneven ground, hill walking, some parts off the beaten path.
(Most routes fall into this category)
Very Difficult:
Rough terrain, walking experienced required
Severe:
This grade is scrambling over rocks and a small amount of rock climbing might be required. A maximum of two persons to one walking leader is taken on these routes.
Equipment: 
We would recommend that for daily walking you bring the following:
Walking Boots (must be worn and tried before proper use)
Thick socks
Long walking trousers - must be summer type.
Walking top, build up in layers, will be cool morning and evening.
Sun hat; remember about the back of your neck.
Sun cream, always use high factor, you will be exposed to a dry hot wind.
Water carriers allowing 2ltrs or more capacity, or have one small bottle which you can re-fill from the larger bottles.
Insect Repellent
We will have first aid equipment at all times but if you bring your own that’s fine.
Sun glasses, there is also glare from the rocks and sun glasses are a must have, always buy a pair with UV protection.
