Paleokastritsa - Lakones - Mt. Arakli - Angelokastro - Paleokastritsa

This a mountain walk takes you on a circuit of the high ridge of Paleokastritsa.
Paleokastritsa has long been considered one of the most beautiful villages in Corfu and is a renowned Greek beauty spot, it is hilly and nestles beneath the folds of steep verdant slopes of olive groves and citrus orchards.
You will experience traditional small mountain Greek villages, prepared walking paths in amongst olive groves and cypress trees with a mixture of Greek Villages and  Byzantine castle.
You may notice the mountain Greek Villages have influence from Greece mainland.
The explanation:during the Othomans occupation in Greece, some Greeks moved to Corfu Island which was under Venetian Supervision.
Lakones village was one of these cases, they moved from Lakonia Peloponese during Othomans occupation. It is a lovely typical Corfiot village with one thin road running through the middle of it. Walking through the traditional road village you can see houses of the 18th and 19th centuries, that they surely have some kind of charm.

Stavros, Caves, Mountain of Pantokrator Chapel - South Central Corfu

You will experience traditional small mountain Greek village, prepared walking paths in amongst cypress trees with a mixture of Greek and Italian buildings.

As you approach the start and end point of this mountain walk you may notice the Italian influence on the architecture of this quiet mountain village. 
This wonderful walk takes you on a circuit of the high ridge of Stavros. 
We reach a delightful chapel by a mountain footpath, and then return along a way of a track. 
Throughout, the views are spectacular.
Start on the Stavros road, outside Kalithea taverna next to the church.
We pass the houses of Dafnata then take the main path above olive   trees. 
 Looking right, the vista is the Strongili valley, the Korision Lake and the mountain villages of Garouna, Agios Mathaios and Vouniatades.
Periodic breaks in the trees give excellent photo opportunities and good excuses for a rest, with views of the wooded countryside composed of olive groves and orchards of oranges and lemons.

Agios Stefanos, Three Lakes, Avlaki - North East Corfu

The north-eastern region of Corfu, an island noted for the outstanding beauty and variety of its scenery, is set apart by the harmony of its landscape, a perfect marriage of mountain and sea, forest and olive grove. It is thought by many to be one of the most beautiful coastlines in the Mediterranean, and is already home to some of the most desirable properties in Greece. No wonder, then, that it is now one of the most sought-after areas.
The walk begins from the Bay of Agios Stefanos, a small fishing harbor popular for private yachts , on a path along the coast that will take you from one small bay to the next, passing through some of the most picturesque coastal parts of the island.

In some parts, the path diverts, cutting through the fields and the olive forest growing by the sea, or meets the inner roads of the villages in between. During the walk, you will enjoy views of the coast, the sea and the opposite coast of Albania, lying less than 2 miles away, the town of Agioi Saranda.
From our coastal walk we descend into one of the best sandy beaches in
Corfu, . Avlaki is one of many particularly lovely bays in this area, but is unique in that half its area is protected from development being Forestry Commission land.

Gastouri - Sissy's House - Platanos - Agia Kyriaki - Achilleion Palace

A pleasantly walk for young and old. Our walk begins at Gastouri Village and progresses towards Agia Kyriaki chapel. The village of Gastouri is set amid beautiful scenery on a green hillside. The village was built on the slopes of the mountain Agioi Deka and it has points of unique view, like Bella Vista and Belvedere.
The picturesque village chosen by the Emperess of Aystria, Sissy, to find peace and the appropriate climate  that would be beneficial for her damaged health.
We walk through the tiled streets with the stone mansions.  On the way you will meet the house where  the Emperess Sissy  lived.  Later we will meet the Sissy's Springs.
Finally we will reach the highest top of the mountain where the views are stunning.

Agioi Deka - Makrata - Aqueduct of Benitses - Saint Nikolas Chapel - Agioi Deka, Central Corfu

This wonderful walk takes you on a circuit of the low ridge of Dafnata ( central Corfu ). 
We walk through dense forest of olive, pine, oak and myrtle trees, along a natural water spring and we reach the Aqueduct of Benitses by a mountain footpath.
The Benitses Aqueduct is a remarkable, ingenious irrigation system that was developed in the 19th century by the British, to distribute water from the high mountain springs to Corfu Town.
 " The period of British occupation, British High Commissioner Sir Frederick Adam decided to give a definitive solution to the problem by transferring to the city plenty of fresh drinking water from the source of Carteri and St. Nicholas in the area of Benitses . On October 18, 1830 in the Senate he proposed the construction of an aqueduct in Benitses within 6.5 miles and in an altitude of 55 meters , the project budget was then 19,386 pounds.
The Senate did unanimously accepted the proposal of Sir Adam and the water supply of the city from the new aqueduct began with a majestic ceremony in the Esplanade square just 10 months later on August 7, 1831 .
The fact that pure and clean water was imported to town for first time was an event of huge importance for the citizens of Corfu. Throughout, the natural enviroment is wonderful. About the history of Benitses Aqueduct read here..."
